Fasting and performing prayers in the night of Qadr in Ramadhân
Narrated by Abû Huraira radhiAllâhu `anhu: The Prophet sallAllâhu `alayhi wa sallam said,
"Whoever fasted the month of Ramadân out of sincere Faith (i.e. belief) and hoping for a reward from Allâh, then all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayers in the night of Qadr out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allâh, then all his previous sins will be forgiven ." [Sahîh Al-Bukhari]
The end of Ramadhan would surely be a time for muhasabah (self-reflection) for the believers; it is a time where we will weep for the passing of such a blessed month and reflect whether this Ramadhan has been better than the any of the previous Ramadhans; because surely, it is our aim to improve ourselves, our worship to God and our relationship with the Creator. And what other time can be better than the month where expiation of the past sins is promised at its end - we can only pray that our worship are accepted and we would be placed among the sincere ones who had achieved the state of fitrah by the time the takbir is called. Subhanallah! May Allah forgive our sins and place us among the victorious.
- Looking forward to see the next Ramadhan, insya-Allah, if given the chance to do so......
